Seltene erste Ausgabe des dritten Buches über Architektur, veröffentlicht im selben Jahr wie das IV. Buch. - "The title is in a tablet above a woodcut of ruins of an arcade. Book III describes Roman antiquities in Italy and elsewhere. The first genuine advance in architectural illustration seems to have been made by Serlio, and his 'Libro Terzo' set the type of architectural illustration in Italy for the rest of the century" (Fowler). "The great innovation of Serlio's third book is that only graphic illustration can guarantee the pedagogical efficacy of the study of antiquities" (Millard). Unter den römischen Altertümern sind das Pantheon, die Trajanssäule, das Kolosseum, verschiedene Thermen und Triumphbögen sowie Gebäude in Ancona, Pola, Verona und Neapel. - Neu aufgebunden und teils leicht angerändert. Stellenweise leicht braun- bzw. fingerfleckig, die ersten drei Blätter etwas stärker.
