Erste, um das Exempelbüchlein erweiterte Ausgabe eines seiner Hauptwerke; in allen Ausgaben selten. Die "Künstliche rechnung" erschien erstmals 1526 und das "Exempelbüchlin" 1530. "This work is an extension of the first part of the Coss, and is divided into three parts: (1) Grundbüchlein, the fundamental operations with abstract and concret numbers, integers, and fractions, with and without the abacus; (2) Regelbüchlein, the rule of three ('Regel de Tri') and Welsch practice ('Wellisch rechnung'); (3) Exempelbüchlein, problems and results. It was one of the best-known of the practical arithmetics of that period" (Smith). - "Rudolff's importance in the history of mathematics lies in his having written the first comprehensive book on algebra in German. In this work he went far beyond his Grammateus, especially concerning calculation with rational and irrational polynomials... His writings are remarkable both for the occasional appearance of decimal fractions and for improvements in symbolism" (DSB). - Exemplar aus dem Besitz des Jodocus Nass, mit Namenseindruck und Datum "1564" unterhalb des Kolophons.
