Extrem seltene Ausgabe. - "In this almost unknown work Renaldini, who subsequently became one of the most influential member of the 'Academia del Cimento', relates the discoveries of Vieta and Girard, and uses new curious notations" (Riccardi). "It includes, among other problems, an approximate rectification of the circle by trigonometrical means" (Sotheran). - Rinaldini (1615-1698), seit 1644 Dozent für Philosophie und seit 1649 Professor für Mathematik in Pisa, war eines der Gründungsmitglieder der Accademia del Cimento. Seit 1667 hatte er den Lehrstuhl für Philosophie an der Universität von Padua inne. Er korrespondierte mit Vincenzo Viviani und war mit Galilei und Borelli befreundet. - Titel mit Besitzvermerk von alter Hand. Vereinzelt gering stockfleckig bzw. gebräunt.
