Erste Ausgabe. - "As the physicist on the Berlin team, Meitner's task was to incorporate the data from chemistry, radioactivity, and her own physical experiments into a coherent explanation of the nuclear processes. Her report in 'Zeitschrift für Physik' (the offered item) clearly shows how difficult that was. Uranium was different somehow from other heavy nuclei, reacting with neutrons in three distinct ways, giving three sets of products. Equally disturbing was the length of the decay sequence in processes 1 and 2 and the parallels between them. To find a physical distinction between the three processes, Meitner studied the energy of the effective neutrons for each" (Sime, Lise Meitner S.174). - Stempel auf Titel, sonst sauber und wohlerhalten
